6 Months Along and...We've Chosen a Name!

On Wednesday, September 28th we hit 6 MONTHS! woo hoo ...two-thirds of the way there! I've posted some pictures below of my growing belly. I finally feel like I actually look pregnant! For a while there, I think most people would see my belly and thought to themselves, "Is she pregnant or did she just have a good weekend??" And I could always tell which ones were having a battle with themselves over it - so of course I made sure to lean way back and poke it out! haha. As far as wardrobe goes - the choices are becoming fewer and fewer. Every morning before work, our bedroom looks like a tornado ripped through and pulled everything out of my closet and onto the floor! Getting ready has become quite the task. I'm longing for the day I can throw on a pair of super-stretch leggings and some boots! Although, I think we got a glimpse of Autumn here this weekend. It was SO nice! I cannot wait for cool weather!

Alright, below are a few pictures of me at 6 months (24 weeks) and below that is the name we have chosen for our sweet baby boy!

BROOKS DAVID PATTERSON
Hope you all love it as much as we do!We searched through what seems like thousands of names before we came across Brooks. When we found it I said "ooh it's strong and unique - I love it!" and Travis said (in his best announcer voice of course) "Brooks Pattersonnnnn with the touchdownnn.....yea...I like it too!" So Brooks it is! We wanted him to have a family name also; David is my Dad's first name.
Let the monogramming begin!! Thanks for reading and have a great week! xoxo

Better Late Than Never!

“You suck at blogging” loving words from my friend Courtney Kirwan, that have motivated me to update our blog and clue everyone in on what we’ve been up to! It’s been a while, so let’s back up a bit…
Labor Day Weekend (20 weeks along): Travis and I made the 5hour trip back home for Labor Day. Because Travis has been keeping such long hours at the hospital (to which he usually doesn’t receive the next day’s schedule until the night before) – we were too tired to drive on Friday night, so we left on Saturday morning at 4:30am. YIKES!! I didn’t sleep the whole way – can you believe it?! Usually car rides = long naps for me! Poor Trav!
Saturday we were able to register at ‘BUY BUY BABY’. Holy Moly! That place is like a Costco for baby stuff – it’s HUGE…and totally overwhelming for first time parents! Between the 8 different types of pacifiers, onesies (with and without feet), breast pumps, butt paste, and bottles – it’s safe to say…we were lost. Thank goodness we had Grandma Shirley and Grandma Brenda to help out. AND of course embarrass us by snapping photos while we registered. J

Overall, it was an awesome trip home! We were even able to head downtown and tailgate with friends and family for the first game of the season - GO DAWGS!! Miss you girls!! xoxo

September 9th-11th (21 weeks along): Keith & Keri and Phillip & Christina came to visit us from Savannah! We had a blast! Luckily, Charleston gave us great weather and we spent most of the weekend outside. The guys watched the game, while the girls shopped the cobble-stone streets of downtown (and spent the guys' money). We also kayaked the intercostals’ alongside a family of dolphins. (Keri tried to run one over with her and Keith’s kayak – she’s being investigated by PETA. JK Keri!) Come visit again soon!

My 25th Birthday, September 15th (22 weeks along): Unfortunately, I hate to report that my 25th birthday was pretty lame. I came down with a terrible cold that week and it lasted for 7-8 days. For someone that’s never had the flu, bronchitis, strep, or even chicken pox – I was miserable! So I spent my birthday, curled up with my handsome hubby, a box of tissues, and a pizza. Not exactly the ‘quarter of a century’ party I was hoping for, but what can ya do?! Not to worry. All is not lost…Travis gave me the sweetest card I think he’s EVER given me and… I also got a Brother sewing machine! Does this make me overly domestic? I want need to learn to sew. I can’t even sew a button back on a pair of Trav’s pants! PLUS, I’m hoping to make all of the baby bedding myself. Wish me luck! PS: I’m definitely having a great big (yes, hair and all) 80’s Prom themed birthday party next year! Mark your calendars!! Well all but one of you. We’ll need a sitter, duh!
September 20th (23 weeks along): For any of you who may not know…..IT’S A BOY!! Our OBGYN confirmed that we are having a baby boy and we are so excited! Travis is over the moon. He bought him the most precious tiny fishing hat. He’s already talking about playing catch, pitching a tent, and casting a line! We can’t wait! Here are some babybump pictures:

Thanks for reading! I'll post again soon! (I promise - i'm going to get good too!)

WE ARE EXPECTING

SURPRISE (for everyone)!! So, I'm assuming you all received your announcement cards in the mail... yes, we are expecting a baby, due January 18th! I will be 3mos/3wks pregnant this Wednesday (7/27). We hope to find out the gender in mid-late August. I wanted to tell you all in a special and unique way, plus give you a little something for the fridge! We are very happy and want you all to share in the excitement as well, so I've created this blog to allow you all to stay in touch with us and our new addition! I plan to post at least once a week. I'll add sonogram pictures and my first "bump photo" next week. I'll also use the blog to post photos and videos once the baby is born, so please keep checking for new updates! This has been an unexpected blessing for us and we couldn't be happier to share in the excitement with all of our family and friends. We look forward to hearing from you!

We love you and miss you all! xoxo
